Board of Directors

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Corvallis Montessori School is overseen by a dedicated Board of Directors. This group of volunteers provides strategic leadership, financial oversight, and long-term planning to ensure the school remains a thriving environment for our children.

Our Board members bring a diverse range of professional expertise and a shared passion for the Montessori philosophy.

Levi Fredrikson, President

Levi moved from rural Minnesota to Corvallis in 2007, later earning his Master’s in Horticulture at OSU and teaching at Linn-Benton Community College. Now working at Oregon Tilth, he dedicates his career to supporting farmers and food systems.

A long-time admirer of Montessori education, Levi and his partner Margot have watched their children blossom at CMS, deeply appreciating the staff’s genuine care. In his rare free time, Levi enjoys “crunchy” passions like grafting fruit trees, fermenting, and hunting for those mythical Trader Joe’s snacks only moms can seem to find.

Jackie Sleeper, Vice President

Jackie grew up on an Oregon farm and earned her B.S. in Animal Science from OSU. Over the past 15 years, she has held leadership roles in organic agriculture and animal welfare, including a recent three-year stint with the USDA National Organic Program. Jackie is excited to bring her project management and leadership skills to the CMS board.

After some time on the East Coast, Jackie and her husband Mark returned to Corvallis in 2013. Their son Ryland is a CMS alumna. In her downtime, Jackie enjoys cooking, gardening, crocheting, hiking with their dog, and helping out on the family farm.

Brian Gibbons, Treasurer

Brian and his family moved from Pennsylvania to Corvallis five years ago when he joined the OSU faculty as a finance professor. His daughter Quinn is currently in the Toddler House, and watching her grow has deepened the family’s appreciation for Montessori education.

Combining academic expertise with past experience as a financial analyst, Brian brings a strong foundation in finance and accounting to his role providing budgetary guidance for CMS. Outside of work and community volunteering, Brian and his family love skiing, biking, gardening, and traveling together.

Eleanor Oken, Secretary

A native Oregonian, Eleanor moved to Corvallis last summer with her husband Logan and daughter Rose after a decade in Washington. Rose is currently thriving in the Bamboo classroom, continuing a Montessori journey that began in Seattle. Professionally, Eleanor is a nurse practitioner with a background in infectious disease, currently working with the Samaritan hospice group.

Eleanor is excited to bring her strong organizational, collaborative, and public speaking skills to the CMS Board. She looks forward to working behind the scenes to give back to the community. In her free time, she enjoys settling into the area and being closer to family.

Caroline Hedge, Member

Originally from subarctic Canada, Caroline and her family moved to Corvallis in 2022. They have practiced Montessori methods since her son Stanley was born (they never even had a crib!). Remotely from her family’s hobby farm, Caroline works for UC San Francisco, bringing over a decade of institutional health and safety experience.

A dedicated public servant, Caroline is eager to leverage her program management skills and lean knowledge to support CMS. Having grown up in “growing zone zero,” she now loves spending her free time outside enjoying the non-freezing temperatures and vibrant agriculture of the Willamette Valley.

Spencer Dixon, Member

Spencer lives in Corvallis, where he owns and operates Heart of the Valley Construction, building custom homes and additions. Two of his sons are proud CMS alumni, and his youngest, Bodhi, is currently in the Maple room. With a background in project management, Spencer brings a spirit of efficiency and collaboration to the board.

When he is not working or volunteering in the community, you will likely find Spencer and his family outdoors—camping, mountain biking, rafting, or exploring the Pacific Northwest woods together.

Jack Link, Member

Jack and his partner, Brittany, returned to Corvallis to raise their daughter, Lois, in the community where they first met as OSU students. Professionally, Jack works as a project manager for an engineering firm, bringing a thoughtful and highly organized approach to his service on the CMS board.

Outside of work, Jack enjoys residential remodeling, film, music, and playing softball. He loves bringing people together through social events and is always eager to connect with fellow CMS families over a walk or a shared drink.

Ethan Hubler, Member

Originally from Corvallis, Ethan was actually a CMS student himself. He now serves as Chief Operating Officer at the Mid-Willamette Family YMCA, bringing a wealth of experience in community development and organizational leadership. Ethan holds a B.S. from OSU and spent five years in Japan teaching English and managing soccer academies.

Ethan lives in Albany with his wife Ty, founder of the nonprofit KinCultivate, and their daughter Oriana, who currently attends CMS. In his free time, he loves reading, playing soccer, tabletop games, and embarking on family adventures.

Katy Sosnak, Member

Katy’s professional background spans Slavic literatures, higher education, and the legal field, with a recent focus on family and special education law. She also volunteers with the Benton County Community Review Board, providing oversight for the child welfare system. Katy hopes to bring her practical nature and love for the finer details to the CMS board.

Katy has two daughters: Amalia, a CMS alumna, and Leda, in the Ponderosa classroom. In her free time, she enjoys family life in Corvallis and supporting the local community.
